Long Eaton Tai Chi & Qigong Classes

What type of classes do we offer?

Yang Style Tai Chi

This flowing and graceful form features 8, 16, and 24-step and 16 step sword.

The 24-step form is well known internationally and practiced everywhere.

Qigong

(Chinese Standing Yoga)

Enhance your flexibility, strength and mood. with our British Health Qigong Association routines.

These graceful exercises require minimal space and are perfect for complementing your health and wellness programme.

Sun Style Tai Chi

Sun Style is a more contained form for all abilities due to its higher stance, it can be more suited for those with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and balance challenges. Tailored for beginners, this class introduces the Sun Style short form and tai chi principles, incorporating Tai Chi for Health warm-ups, Qigong relaxation techniques, using the stepwise teaching method for easier learning of new movements. Following the short form, you can progress with the Sun 73.

Combined Forms: Tai Chi

This course starts rehabilitating, positively and mindfully your posture with gentle weight transfer and spiral movements, building strength and energy combining Chen, Yang and Sun styles. The classes incorporate Tai Chi for Health warm-ups, Qigong relaxation techniques, using the stepwise teaching method for easier learning of new movements.

How much do classes cost?

We offer 2 payment options; by term initially, bank transfer and then an option of monthly standing order. In some cases we accept cash or cheque.

Our Thursday classes are 50% funded by the COOP Community Funding Scheme. This phase of funding will finish December 2026.

Where are our classes located?

All of our classes take place at Petersham Community Hall, Grasmere Road, Long Eaton, Derbyshire, NG10 4DZ.

 How do I join?

We will send you a pre-course information pack. After we have received payment, we will give you a start date. On arrival at your first class, there will be a new starter form to fill in.
